The PLAN ("pre-ACT")

According to ACT, Inc., the PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the ACT and an early indicator of college readiness. Aligned to the ACT, it measures academic development in the areas of English, math, reading, and science.

The PLAN is designed to be taken in the 10th grade.

Format

Four sections (1 hour and 55 minutes):

  • English (30 minutes, 50 questions)
  • Math (40 minutes, 40 questions)
  • Reading (20 minutes, 25 questions)
  • Science (25 minutes, 30 questions)

Test Dates

There are no specific test dates for the PLAN. It is available to be administered September through May, as scheduled by the school.
